Compliance Status
Scotland Food & Drink is committed to making its website accessible following the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
The website has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for HTML and CSS, ensuring compatibility with current browsers. This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, the non-compliances are listed below.
Non-accessible Content
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible. The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Captions (Pre-recorded)
Captions for pre-recorded video content are not yet accessible or text alternatives such as a transcript. This also applies to our pre-recorded audio content. This fails WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria 1.2.1 and 1.2.2.
We plan to add captions and transcripts to all pre-recorded video content and audio content by 2025. When we publish new content, we will make sure our use of videos and audio content meets accessibility standards.
Audio Description (Pre-recorded)
The way the content is presented affects its meaning, and a correct reading sequence is not programmatically determined. This fails WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria 1.2.3 and 1.2.5.
We plan to add audio descriptions to all pre-recorded video content by 2025. When we publish new content, we will make sure our use of videos meets accessibility standards.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
PDFs and other documents
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they are not essential to providing our services.
We plan to fix our documents by replacing the document with an accessible HTML page or ensuring that, if the document is to remain as is, it meets digital accessibility standards. We will look to review these in 2025.

Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared in September 2024.
The website was last tested in August 2024.
The accessibility statement was prepared by testing a random sampling of pages which were representative of all available content types on the website. These pages were tested on a variety of internet browsers including Chrome, Safari and Firefox, and a variety of devices, including MacBook, Windows Android, and iPhone. Testing was done against the WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria.
